Assignment One
Part One: Short Answer
1) A wizard calls you, telling you that their Diricawl is frequently molting and seems to be in discomfort. It is also unable to apparate. What diagnosis do you give, and what do you instruct the wizard to do? (2)
2) You are visiting a witch's house because she is fearful about her Augurey. It has frequently been moaning, even when rain is not approaching, and it appears to be unable to fly in the rain. What is the matter with her Augurey and what advice do you give her to solve the problem? (2)
3) A Diricawl is brought to you that apparates a few feet away from itself whenever it falls asleep. What medication to you give to it and what are the TWO approaches for administering the medication? (3)
4) A young witch approaches you, distressed because her Jobberknoll is obviously ill - it's lost all it's feathers! What two things must you do or give to the Jobberknoll to heal it? (2)
5) The young witch from question four brings back her Jobberknoll to you. She is afraid because it is glowing blue. What caused this, and should she be worried about her Jobberknoll because of this blue glow? (2)
6) A mother with two young children brings in their family Puffskein. It is sneezing and seems tired. It clearly has a Muggle cold. How do you solve this problem, and what are the side-effects of healing the Puffskein this way? (2)

Please choose one (1) of the below options for your 30 points of extra

1) Write a creative short story about a wizard or witch dealing with a pet
from the lesson that has an ailment. (minimum 200 words)
2) Write a journal entry from the point of view of one of the beasts from the lesson on what it is
like to have one of it's common illnesses and what it is like to go through the recovery process for it. (minimum 200 words). This can also be done in a song or poem form, but please ensure it is at least 15 lines.
3) Create a graphic, draw a picture, make a video - do whatever you please really - to make a visual representation of a creature from the lesson WITH an illness, or RECOVERING from an illness.
(For example, I could draw a fluffy white Jobberknoll, meaning it is sick, or I could draw a glowing blue Jobberknoll,
meaning it is recovering.) Please specify which creature it is and whether they are sick or recovering.
4) Complete the following word scramble containing key words from the lesson (2 points per word) NOTE: not all of these scrambled words are just one word!
